How Does WisdomTree’s Fee Reduction Impact European Bitcoin ETPs?

March 26, 2025

WisdomTree, a leading global financial innovator, announced a 10 basis point fee reduction for its WisdomTree Physical Bitcoin ETP (BTCW), bringing annual fees down to 0.15%, effective from March 26, 2024, through December 31, 2024. This reduction positions it as the lowest fee bitcoin ETP in Europe during the period, reflecting WisdomTree’s commitment to offering cost-effective cryptocurrency exposure.

Valued at $880 million, WisdomTree’s BTCW is one of the largest bitcoin ETPs in Europe, listed on major exchanges including the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Börse Xetra, SIX, and Euronext in Paris and Amsterdam. In 2024, it led the European bitcoin ETP market with $232 million in net new flows. That year, WisdomTree attracted $520 million in new flows across its range of crypto ETPs, establishing itself as the European leader in crypto ETP flows.

These crypto ETPs offer institutional-grade storage solutions, eliminating the need for direct possession of cryptocurrencies and interaction with blockchain, enhancing security and accessibility for investors. The CEO of WisdomTree Europe, Alexis Marinof, stated that the fee reduction aligns with the firm’s focus on meeting market needs and supporting institutional digital asset adoption through cost-effectiveness.

Since 2019, WisdomTree has been at the forefront of providing institutional-grade cryptocurrency exposure for European investors. With a curated selection of 10 physically backed crypto ETPs, WisdomTree leverages two decades of expertise in managing physical gold ETPs. This strategy ensures competitive fees, high security, and robust risk management, facilitating broader digital asset adoption.

In conclusion, the reduced fee for WisdomTree’s Physical Bitcoin ETP to 0.15% highlights its dedication to accessible, affordable digital asset investments with top-tier security and solidifies its leadership in Europe’s crypto ETP market.
